Bad weather conditions did not stop ASAT teachers to travel by sea on December 14 in order to give relief goods to the people of Bisagu who were affected by the flooding caused by the northeast monsoon and the tailend of cold front that hit Cagayan in the early week of December <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team personally led by Principal Edward D. Garcia and Faculty President Marjorie C. Cardenas distributed more than 200 packs of relief goods consisting of rice, canned goods, noodles and coffee to the affected residents. According to Mrs. Cardenas, the Teachers and Employees Association of the school was able to gather an estimated P30,000 worth of groceries, rice and used clothes from the association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBisagu was chosen as our beneficiary in the relief operation because it was severely affected by typhoons and floodings. We also considered their way of life, as there are many indigents living in there.\u201d she added citing the data provided by the DSWD. Due to the bad weather, one group travelled by seas to serve as an advance party who will gather the recipients of the relief goods. While another group travelled by land transporting the relief goods. \u201cAlong the way, our truck was stuck in the mud while transporting the relief goods. We almost did not made it. Fortunately, the barangay service was there to help us.\u201d said Mr. Mark Jason Dayao, one of the volunteer teachers. Meanwhile, Bisagu Barangay Captain Reneo Labbao extended his thanks to the association. \u201cMaraming salamat sa ASAT dahil napili niyo ang aming barangay.
