10 years ago, Crislyn\u2019s mother who is also an associate professor at Cagayan State University, was her first teacher. Now that there is a pandemic, her mother will be having additional teaching load which is teaching her daughter at home.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Due to the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, students like Crislyn Ferrer will have to attend distance learning modality since face-to-face classes will not be allowed until such time that a vaccine for COVID-19 is found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She chose a blended learning modality that combines online and modular approach in learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a student who participated on the pilot testing of learning activity sheets, She said that she enjoyed answering the tasks given to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy experience with the pilot testing was quite fun and exciting, medyo may ilang part lang po na confusing siya at some point pero it will become enjoyable when you analyze and read it well. I must say that answering the module was quite the ride.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also revealed that, at first, she challenged herself to answer the module independently. However, due to the complexities of some activities, she asked her mother for clues on how to go on with the task at hand. Thus, answering activities became their bonding moments at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natividad Palattao, Crislyn\u2019s mother who is teaching at CSU and also the PTA president of the school, said that modular approach is beneficial for students because it develops the students logical and critical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 However, according to her, students must be guided properly by their parents in order to ensure that they will do their task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this, she reminded her fellow parents to find time in assisting their children in answering the modules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParent\u2019s support is important. Para-paraan lang yan, kung hindi alam ni nanay o bata, magpatulong sa kapit-bahay na nakakaalam.\u201d she advised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 years ago, Crislyn and her mother bonded with simplicities of ABC and counting 1-2-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
