DEPED CAGAYAN SDS, ASAT COMMUNITY LAUD TESDA’S PROMISE TO GIVE ADDITIONAL LOT

APARRI, CAGAYAN—TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña personally went to Aparri School of Arts and Trades on February 17 to inform the faculty and staff that his office will work on the titling of the school lot.

Moreover, TESDA will also give additional lot to cater the needs of the fast-growing population.

The Secretary revealed that when the TESDA law was created, some of the properties of the then Department of Education Culture and Sports (DECS), now DepEd were transferred to TESDA as it takes charge of the government’s Technical Education and Skills Development program.

With the separation of TESDA and ASAT in 2003, the school lot was divided into two portions, the bigger lot was allocated to TESDA while the smaller lot was given to ASAT without bestowing any land title.

In order to resolve further problems to arise in the future, the TESDA national office through the leadership of Sec. Lapeňa granted the school’s request for lot titling and spared additional lot to the school.

“Magkatabing bakod lang naman tayo. Kaya ang aking instruction sa TESDA, we are just like brothers and sisters complementing each other so kailangang ang mga actions natin will make us stronger working together as one.This lot is for our children and our children’s children in order to achieve our noble task of educating them,” Lapeña said.

DepEd Schools Division Superintendent Orlando E. Manuel, Ph.D., CESO V welcomed the recent development between TESDA and ASAT.

On his speech, he thanked TESDA for giving additional lot to the school assuring that DepEd will always welcome TESDA as its partner in delivering quality service to its clients.

Likewise, the Superintendent expressed his gratitude to the ASAT Alumni Association, Incorporated President Roberto M. Damian who initiated the negotiation with TESDA Aparri Polytechnic Institute and TESDA national office.

The school Principal, Dr. Nimfa A. Alagao also extended her thanks to TESDA national office and Aparri Polytechnic Institute headed by Dr. Renato Ubiňa, for granting their request for the titling of the school.

According to Alagao, the additional lot given by TESDA is in preparation should there be face to face learning modality in the near future.
