ASAT receives 100k worth of lab equipment

PRINCIPAL TURNED GASBOY. Despite his busy schedule, School Principal Edward D. Garcia volunteered as a CALTEX Gasboy every afternoon to encourage ASAT parents and stakeholders to gas up at CALTEX. Upon reaching 100,000 liters, the school also received P100,000.00 worth of lab equipment.

ASAT finally received the long-awaited rewards of the Fuel Your School Drive Project as Caltex handed in the promised P100,000 pesos worth of Science Laboratory Equipment on October 16, 2019 at Santiago City Isabela. ASAT, through the initiative of SHS Coordinator Mr. Jay L. Andres, is chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the said project wherein from June 1 to July 31, Caltex promised to donate one peso for every 1-litre purchase of their fuel in order to help the 30 public schools on Cagayan to get quality equipment for teaching Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics. And so prior to this, the school did all means to be able to reach the quota, from posting and sharing online to even prompting the school principal Dr. Edward Garcia, to personally volunteer as a gas boy after class to encourage more motorists to refuel at Caltex Aparri Branch. “For every liter of fuel you buy at Caltex, one peso will be go to the school which will be used to purchase one hundred thousand worth of laboratory equipment “ Dr. Garcia said,

All ASAT students, parents, stakeholders were also constantly urged to participate by getting their coupon at the school so that they could turn them up every time they purchase gas at Caltex and side from this, the principal and some teachers regularly visited Caltex Station Aparri branch to hand in coupons to motorists.
The donors, Chevron Philippines Inc., American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc., and Northern Star Energy Corporation gave the following: 1 unit 50” TCL UHD TV, 1 unit 44341 Celestron Microscope LCD DIGITAL II, 1 unit 44362 Celestron Microscope COSMOS LCD, 40 units concave and convex mirrors, 2 unit portable laboratory sink, 1 pc periodic table of elements, 1 set Toycar Dynamo, 20 units soldering iron and 2 rolls soldering rod, 32 pcs neodymium magnets, 1 roll wire 22 AWG, 10 units toggle switch, 20 units propeller and 500 pcs.
