Humanities and Social Sciences students of ASAT with their teachers bring early

of Charity Orphanage during their Community Outreach on October 13, 19 and 20.
Around 100 children were filled with joy as they ate, danced, played parlor games and received gifts
such as clothes, toys and school supplies. According to the main organizer, Mrs. Mary Helen
Agarpao, the outreach is aculminating activity in the Community Engagement Solidarity and Citizenship
(CESC) subject which isunder taken by the HUMSS students, and this has been the 3rd outreach of the SHS
department. “Our main objective is to bring hope and joy to the kids even with this simple
acts, all thanks to God, to our supportive school, the active students and the generous sponsors who have poured their hearts to make this possible,” she added. According to most of the students, it was their first
time to join an outreach and they were very glad that they were able to be part of helping the less fortunate.
“The experience made me realize how lucky I am.” Marvelyn Buenafe, one of the students said.
“It was very heart warming to see the smiles in their faces.” she added
Leanne Castro, another student felt the same way saying “I saw how uncomplaining they are
despite their less fortunate situation, I hope we will be able to do bigger outreach in the future and reach more people.” The elder members of the communities the group visited, thanked the students.
