After six years drought in the NSPC, the Aparri School of Arts and
Trades made it to the NSPC once again, but this time students will
not compete but its school paper—The Industrialist as it ranked 6th
best news page during the 2019 RSPC held at Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
Out of more than 60 school paper entries, The Industrialist clinched the 6th rank in the news
section. The Industrialist als landed 14th Place in the Feature section, 12th Place in the Science and
Technology section and 11th Place in the Over-all Layout.
“This victory has been achieved because of our hardworking school paper staff. Without their dedication,
passion and perseverance in writing articles we could not have achieved such feat.” revealed Mr. Mark Jason U. Dayao, the school paper adviser. “Finally the long drought is over. The last time that we have produced NSPC qualifier was way back 2014 in theperson of Jenny Ann S. DelaCruz. I am very happy because we have once again produceda qualifier which is our school paper. Indeed, we work as one
and we win as one.” exclaimed Mr. Dayao. The NSPC will be held at Tuguegarao City on February this year.
Jaime ranks 2nd Place
in Reg’l Oratorical Tilt
SHS student John Lester Jaime bagged 2nd Place in the Regional Science and Technology
Week Oratorical contest held at CSUAndrews, Tuguegarao City on August 27, 2019.
Despite being his first time to join such contest, Jaime outshined other orators coming from the different
schools in the Division of Cagayan making him the representative of Cagayan in the regionals. Known to be a shy boy at the corner during his JHS years, many of his teachers were surprised on his victory.
One of his teachers recalled that he is an extremely shy but bright boy sitting at the corner
“As a coach, I see Jaime as a determined person focused on his goals. He was born to perform. He always listens to suggestions and seeks for improvement. When he performed at stage, I have confidence that he will bring pride to ASAT.” said Mrs. Mayette A. Manuel, his coach. “I felt really nervous during
the contest. Thankfully, I was able to overcome my fear and land 2nd Place. I want to thank
all those who supported me” said Jaime.
